Music is the essence of our lives from the beginning of the journey till the end.
Starting with the rhythm of our breathing, the chirping of the birds, the gushing gurgling water, the swaying of the trees, the buzz of the bees, the thundering of the clouds.........and the list is endless. Mother nature thus blesses some of us to represent this magic and SUNITA KAPUR is certainly one of them.
Giving expression to her talent from childhood Sunita was encouraged by her parents to study Indian Classical Music. She very easily became the favorite of her teachers. She further pursued to complete her Sangeet Visharad (Masters in Indian Classical music) from the prestigious institute Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan, Bombay, India. Completing in the meantime her university degree in Law, Sunita was on the crossroads of her life deciding her profession, and music being in her body, mind and soul she went on further to train herself in Classical Vocal Music under the guidance of masters like Pundit Govind Prasad Jaipurwale, Smt. Shashikala Kaikini and Pundit Sudhindra Bhowmick. Her Gurus (teachers) moulded her voice to sing with perfection, music of a variety of styles such as Ghazals, Bhajans, POP, Garba, Bhangra, and old & new film songs. Also, living in Bombay, a cosmopolitan city, Sunita was easily able to sing in many different languages.
Her melodious voice, and attractive appearance was soon noticed by the music big wigs of Bollywood and her decision of making music her life and profession came so easily to her. She became the most sought after female lead singer for stage in Bollywood, singing in India and abroad with Sonu Nigam, Anu Malik, Sudhesh Bhosle, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Kalyanji Anandji, Abhijeet, Kumar Sanu, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Alka Yagnik, Shaan, Vinod Rathor and many others.
Her popularity went beyond the stage in the music recording rooms and she was lending her voice for numerous jingles in different languages, theaters, Television serial titles, and cutting her own CDs for leading music companies like Zee Music, Tips, Venus, Weston, Nuff Music U.K, T-Series, Vishwa and many more....
The boom in TV shows made producers seek attractive and melodious Sunita to anchor several TV music shows. She very successfully anchored the weekly musical TV show called " PICNIC ANTAKSHRI" with film star Sachin. The show went on successfully for a long time till her husband's work brought her to settle in New York, USA. Settled well in New Jersey Sunita has made her presence felt here too and all her fans who would cheer her during the shows here are delighted. She is now busy doing musical shows for all the visiting Bollywood teams, her own shows, recording songs and above all extending her knowledge of music by teaching to all who are interested in knowing about Indian Music.
