Welcome to the world of Indian music. At musicsunita, your training includes, and is not limited to Swara Gyaan; which is knowing and understanding the 12 Swaras or musical notes which is the base of music universally; Voice Culture; which involves breathing techniques, voice throw, tonal quality and vocal range; Taal; which is knowing and understanding the various types of rhythm patterns essential for singing; Ucchaar; which are pronunciations; Bhaav; which are the emotions and expressions involved while singing; Microphone Techniques, Building Self Confidence, Stage Presence, Positive Energy, Self Discipline, Appreciating Music and much more…… so as to be able to perform amidst an audience………and most of all……for your own Soul.
At musicsunita you get to learn various styles of Indian Music; Classical, Bhajans, Ghazals, Film, Pop, Folk and in various languages too.
We have an Annual Recital Concert each Winter/Spring; UBHARTE KALAKAAR, for each student to get a chance to showcase his/her talent and is supported by professional musicians and sound. The students get certificates for participating in this event.
At musicsunita, we have trained teachers in various forms of Indian Dance Styles, Bharat Natyam, Bollywood and Folk too. Students will get to participate in some events related to musicsunita.They will get certificates too.
At musicsunita, we have trained musicians who will teach you to play instruments such as the Keyboards, Tabla, Harmonium and Guitar. Students will also get to participate in some events related to musicsunita.They will get certificates too.
VOICE TRAINING LESSONS
BEGINNERS OR BASIC CLASS
This class is open for all ages. Training for creating a good foundation in music, understanding and voicing the lower and upper notes with ease and perfection, learning Alankaars(patterns) and moving steps forward in singing. Also learning some popular Indian songs.
ADVANCED CLASS
An in-depth training in singing technique, voice culture, microphone singing techniques for stage and recordings, learning Bandishes in Raagas, Alaaps,Taans and much more. The students from the basic class can upgrade themselves to this class.
KARAOKE CLASSES
For all those interested in learning only film songs, a class is class specially designed where the students learn to sing with karaoke tracks.
A SPECIAL CLASS CAN BE DESIGNED FOR A ONE TO ONE PRIVATE COACHING SESSION WHERE SPECIFICS IN SINGING TECHNIQUE, VOICE MODULATION, VOICE CULTURE AND MICROPHONE SINGING TECHNIQUES WILL BE ENSURED. Please call Sandi at 201 658 9220 for details or Register here
DANCE LESSONS
Group lessons are offered where the students learn Bharat Natyam, Bollywood and Folk Dances of India.The students get opportunities to perform on stage in events related to musicsunita and other Dance Competitions.
INSTRUMENTAL LESSONS
Group and one on one lessons are offered where the students learn to play the instruments such as the Tabla, Keyboards, Guitar and Harmonium.

OUR TEACHERS
VOCAL
Ms Sunita Kapur has aSangeet Visharad (Masters in Indian Classical music) from Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan, Bombay, India. She has further trained in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music under the guidance of Gurus like Pundit Govind Prasad Jaipurwale, Smt. Shashikala Kaikini and Pundit Sudhindra Bhaumik. She sings and teaches variety of styles such as Indian Classical, Ghazals, Bhajans, Folk and Bollywood. She has been the female lead singer for stage in Bollywood, singing in India and abroad with Sonu Nigam, Anu Malik, Sudhesh Bhosle, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Kalyanji Anandji, Abhijeet, Kumar Sanu, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Alka Yagnik, Shaan, Vinod Rathod and many others. She has sung numerous jingles in different languages, theater, television,radio and cutting her own CDs for leading music companies like Zee Music, Tips, Venus, Weston, Nuff Music U.K, T-Series, Vishwa etc.
Ms. Irma Kapoor has her Masters in Music ( M Mus) from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishvavidyalaya Khairagarh India. She has also trained under Gurus such as Ms. Kishori Amonkar of the Jaipur Gharana and Ghazal Maestro Mr. Jagjit Singh. She has been a performing artist of All India Radio, pleasing audiences with her Ghazals. Ms. Irma Kapoor has also worked as a Junior Lecturer in the Department of Indian Classical Music at Bhathkhande Mahavidyalaya and has won various Awards & Distinctions at an All India Level.

GROUP LESSONS 6-8 STUDENTS (a one hour class)-$240
A non refundable registration fee of $25 will be charged per year. If a student takes a break for a semester, he/she will have to re-register
